DoYaThing – Gorillaz ft. Andre 3000 and James Murphy

For rad videos we can all the time trust Gorillaz. And even before the coming out of this video/commercial for Converse, we were sure it must have been AMAZING. We have to deal with a mix of reality and 3d animation and 2d illustration in an after party context recreated in great detail by the production team, headed by Jamie Hewlett. Converse wisely released a making-of video, for the curious ones (as we are), in which show us how they smashed this common English house in order to make it as realistic as possible. During the shooting the original actors were dressed in chroma key clothing, then tightly replaced by the 3d characters, well rendered by an unknown engine (the director kept his tricks for himself). We are positively surprised about how the direction detailed the set with random useless things of a disaster struck house and how in this mess the product Converse stand out!
