This videoclip (and song) by Wolfmother is simply stunning.I will skip the part in which I celebrate the musical power of such a song and I will head straight to the video. It’s just amazing how it fits so greatly Wolfmother‘s energetic rock.
Reaching this kind of effect through post production would be a long work that, even more importantly, would for sure look very fake. And that’s a bad thing. So what to do?
They came out with an awesome idea: after they shot the live footage with the band, in order to get this ripped, grunge, messy look, the frames of the footage have been printed and then ripped, scratched and whatever else you can think. They sure had fun doing it!
Then, all these spoiled frames have been put together again and mounted on a single video. Add some visual regulations, color correction and general digital adjustments and that’s the result. Cool, isn’t it?
It’s a great example of how analogic and digital can cooperate to a greater result. And we’re all happy when things like these happen!
