What do you get when you blend 37 motion graphics students from Hyper Island with 2.5 days and an image of Willy Wonka’s Oompa Loompa factory?

Ok, that’s a really good question. When I read Lucy McRae‘s (the director) words, I was just finishing watching this wonderful video. Man, I am a student too, and I tried to make some good videos too (do you remember our last teaser?), but this is not the kind of product you’re expecting from a bunch of young guys without some kind of professional experience!

We are in an aseptic and steryle world, where the arms of those “doctors” (played by the studens) are choosing the appearance of the two future members of Reptile Youth. Those students… they seemed harmless to me, but, apparently, they are not.

[...] we are all operated by a higher order, becoming ‘Puppets of technology’, entrusting the digital (FB) to archive our secrets.

The film is very simple, there are no camera movements, only stop motion and filmed footage, but the concept and the realization are amazing: they did all of this stuff in only 2-3 days! Sure they took a huge help, and Lucy is a kind of genious, but those guys were great!

I admit, I’m a little jealous of their work!
