Here we are with a beautiful song by Momory Tapes, “Yes I Know”, the second single for the album “Player Piano”.
The accompanying stark black and white video is really well done. It shows a man in his kitchen making tea, practically withering away into nothing. Music and images blend for 4 minutes, leaving the viewer a lingering melancholy. The director is Eric Epstein, helped by Aaron Epstein, director of photography.

And who better than the director could tell us how this videoclip was done? We quote what Eric says his website “All the animation in this video was done in After Effects. Tracking dots all over the actor where used to move around matte shapes (isolating and shading sections of the actor’s body), as well as the non-anatomical pieces added in later. Both tasks made extensive use of AE’s puppet tool.” “In addition to tracking, a few shots made use of a makeshift inverse kinematics rig, based on scripts by DuDuF. Once the footage was properly carved out, I could start building in the shapes behind it, sometimes sketching them out in photoshop first. Once these shapes seemed to work animated, I’d then fill them in with textures made from stills taken on set.” Here you could find all this description with photos and video.

So, thumbs up for this video!
