Christophe Hoeffel, the german dj known as Kris Menace has a new album – Features and Hide is its first single.

Kris Menace composed several hits in the panorama of New Wave / Disco House music and worked with many stars of the world music, doing remixes for bands like Depeche Mode and LCD Sound System. For this theme has joined with french electronic music Miss Kittin.

This video is more than one Kaleidosquare! Are points, lines and planes transformed into a kind of Kandisky’s simplified composition in black and white. Mathieu Bétard, the director and one of the animators of this video, brought life to this animation, allowing it to establish a particular dialogue with the audience.

In my opinion this video takes us farther than the film Renaissance – is black and white, has futuristic visual language, is in Paris and has a heroine trying to find “hidden evil”. In previous topics we can establish some connections with Hide, but I think this last one has a poetic dimension that allows us to be rendered in 4 minutes. From the way it is represented to paint lips and nails, to light a match, to the way the male character is represented – black background instead of white / light pink, helmet to symbolize what is hidden and we have to wait until the order so that your identity is revealed. All that is a nice way to spend images telling a story, in a simple and straightforward way.

About this collaboration Miss Kittin said: “The weirdest thing is: Kris and I never met… I can imagine the album being an extension of his realty, an imaginary world where strong values and fantasy come together. His music is solid, incredible production skills, with an Italo disco-ish-French touchy twist… After working on millions versions, Kris turned the song into a superb space disco ballad, more subtle, more beautiful than the original. I am so glad he did that. That’s when collaboration is successful, pushing each other forward.”
