During my exams I missed loads of stuff, among them, what I regret the most is having missed the release of Woodkid’s latest video.
It seems that, just like our beloved Kanye , everything marked Woodkid ( Yoann Lemoine ) is golden. In fact his album, which is coming out this fall, will be named “the golden age”. He is badass and he knows it.

After Iron , we have another masterpiece.

Run boy run portraits a kid that runs (fair enough) leaving an amazing building, built between two massive mountains, the sky is black and so on; basically he repeats the same formula of Iron: black and white, visual effects and epicness, but then we enter in a “Assassin’s Creed”/”Where the wild things are” scenario, between monster and fantastic creatures in a perfect climax, which matches perfectly with the orchestration of the song.

Still, even though the global echo that his latest videos had, he doesn’t like to release details about the making of; the only thing clear is that he has a lot of budget and technology to use. Between the others, we appreciate the smart use of 3D animation, just as support and not invasive at all, and the slow-motion. I love slow-motion.

We can appreciate the imagery that Woodkid is building around his music, which goes beyond the sound, including a visual identity that is going to be an essential part of his world, made of symbolism and anxiety. I just can wait to see him live and see if it is “Much ado for nothing” or a new level of what we have visually and musically enjoyed.

To make it short, we have little to talk, just see the video and prepare to be stunned.
