Woodkid – Iron

We are probably standing in front of one a masterpiece in the field of music videos.
The song seems like the entry music for the beginning of the end, and the images follow very well. In the beginning we have a mix of slowmotion and normal speed of scenes that embed a symbolism hard to sustain: owls, horses, wolves, little dead girls, books with crossed keys on the cover which are read schizoidly by a way to thin guy; and the whole thing litterally end in the last minute where the 3d animation is masterly used by the director (who is also the singer and the autor of the song) faking wakes of smoke. We can say that in order to realise with such an impressiveness this video, this versatile director, didn’t save the use of professional graphic softwares, usually used in movies and videogames, in this cased used for clouds, fire and to highlight the details making them an important part of the video, somehow.
Yoann Lemoine, compared to the precedent videos (bragging important names such as Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift and so on) really surpassed himself, and the critic awarded him with best pop video, best visual effects e best styling at the Uk video music award.
In other words: the best spent 3 minutes and 40 seconds of the year.
