Hello boys and girls!

Today we are going to go a lot back in the past, brace yourselves!

I’m bringing to you a very old videoclip made by the guys of Direct 2 Brain for Tiromancino’s song Per Me È Importante.

Why we chose such an old video, you may be asking.

It’s because we wanted to show you something that was very great a long time ago, so you will see how technology has evolved esponentially in just a decade.

This video was a top notch 3D Animation in 2002 (man, I was 12 years old when I was hearing this song at the radio!).

It won many prizes and was Pixar-level stuff, just to be clear.

As regards technique, it’s fast to get it: just modeling-animating-filming in 3D, so to say. I won’t get specific here, because it would be like trying to summarize a 3D lesson in a couple of words: impossible. If you are approaching this field, I suggest you have a look here.

Fun fact: it was made with Autodesk Maya. What’s funny? That we’re sure it was made with Maya because it was the only good 3D modeling software on the market in 2002! Incredible, thinking about how many good softwares are available today (firsts that come to my mind: 3Ds Studio Max, Rhino, Cinema 4D…)!

I want you to watch this video and then make a search here on Wanna of 3D videos, choose a very recent one and confront it with this one.

Then, just have a look at how much better results technology let us achieve nowadays, after just ten years!

And, finally, think what it will be in another ten years! It will blow your mind!

Bye guys, take care!
