Arcade File sang “My Body is a cage that keeps me from dancing” in their beautiful ‘Neon Bible’ album, as the body confines all the expression power that the soul tries to belch out.

But I think that Win Butler and co. didn’t see the bewitching Pandora Marie, a world-renowned artist who use her body to express and inspire the power of human spirit.
She is a real charmer in this videoclip, directed by the Mast‘s lead singer Haale Gafori, a Bronx-born artist of Persian descent, where dancing and singing reach an exquisite embrace.

Pandora brings lyrics to life, turning them in something of visceral, bodily and ethereal in the same moment, shattering and fragile.

It’s starts like Nolan’s Memento.
Haale uses Revers Motion in the first scene to levitate dust from Pandora’s body and give rise to her.
The Mast’s singer knows dancer’s power and holds her dancing in a impenetrable black: no more needs a part of Pandora, because she moves in the air, she rends it, she rapes and strokes it…

…and Haale follows her dancing lets her sometimes natural, sometimes she cut-up footages to match the rhythm, speed-up or slow down them or superimpose different frames to create unique images.
The videoclip lives in contrasts: the black background and the pale Pandora, her compulsive and sweet moves and even the half-naked body itself is full of imaginary: it’s like a cosmo where it cast photos (cut up in post-production) that sinuously rests on Pandora: cities, plants, nature and sky…

…the World itself: it’s an all-absorbing dance.
