Last night, me and the crew, were out drinking, and between a shot and another a buddy said: “Is the world spinning or it’s me?”, and now in hangover on the train it’s kinda difficult to pay close attention to the video, but I also thank God that I didn’t drink as much as the girl on the video.

Basically the video portraits an heavy bender of a skinny girl that starts in a party and then continues on the street, but it is filmes as if we are drunk as f*** too; so we have some time and place black outs, typical balance issues and (what amazes me the most) she PUKES SPARKS!!!!!!

The directing duo DANIELS (aka Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) played masterly with points of view and in post production with amazing transition scenes and used 3D effects just to amaze us, they clearly say that: “[...]it’s more fun to make charming effects than ones that are photo-realistic [...]“.

Young and careless directors, they know how to manage the art of directing and 3D animation: reading interviews they state that they just didn’t know how it would have ended, how the sparks were going out of the girls mouth and the reactions, the just told the appereances to “freak out”.

Yes, they don’t like to explain how the video have been shot, they just tell funny anecdotes about the making of:

“We usually throw up fireworks when we drink tequila” about how the idea of the video was born.

“We had a trampoline, a stunt mattress, a climbing harness and smoke machines, plus a good actress and a laundry list of ideas.” about the balance issues effects.

“We heard that in NY fireworks were illegal so we shot all the fireworks practically after the principal photography while back in Los Angeles, where fireworks were illegal too” about how they managed the sparks effect.

If you want to see how mental DANIELS are, just watch this.

Just to let you know, we already knew DANIELS, watch’em here directing Manachester Orchestra!
