Today we present Sara Bareilles and her “King of Anything”, the first single taken from her second studio album “Kaleidoscope Heart”. King of Anything is sort of a ‘fuck you’ song”, said Bareilles. “I’ve had more unsolicited advice on my life than I care to mention, and this was how I dealt with it. It felt empowering to turn that frustration into music, especially a song that doesn’t even sound angry. That’s sort of what Love Song was as well. Apparently, I don’t get over things very quickly.”

The music video was filmed in Vancouver, Canada, on June 29, 2010 by director Laurent Bruet. It features Sara performing in some different palces: in a resturant, a bus, in a music store, in front of a mural and in a garden full of bloom flowers.

The scenes are composed using polaroid, prints and video recording style to fragmented the frame.
This trick allows you to create a grid, not regular, in which each module contain one shot.
The shots composed appear to be the details of a larger frame. Meanwhile, the camera moves shot in shot, enshrining one, two or more.

A behind-the-scenes of the video was released on Bareilles’ official Facebook page.
Bareilles states that she had input in the making of the music video, writing a treatment for it as soon as she had written the song.

Enjoy, King of anything.
