Halloween, what a magical time of the year, isn’t it? Trick-or-treating kids, pumpkins, scary movies and costume parties of couse. What will you dress up as for halloween? If you’re answer is “I’ll be Gnangnam Style” I strongly suggest to throw your costume away, ‘cos there will be one hundred of your friends who had the same idea.

If you really want to stand out of the crowd you should dress up as a 2007 Youtube video, it’s really ugly, it’s scary and it’s vintage, and vintage always works on chicks.

Look at the video above, it’s a good video, it’s influenced by expressionist cinema (the windows) and features a nice usage of photography in which black is the dominating colour, but it looks (and sounds) worst than a 1920′s movie because of overcompression applied by the uploader.

Seeing this video made me think two things: the first is that video broadcasting is improving really fast and the second is that I’m surprised that nobody already had the idea of using overcompression as a creative tool, correct me if I’m wrong.

That said enjoy this scary trip into prehistory of video streaming.
