Hello, folks!
Here I am again. Tired to see me, uh?
I’m here today, to complete the journey we started yesterday. Yes, we’re talking again about Madness, by Muse!
But this time, it’s not the same as yesterday. This is the Lyrics Video!
Muse really did great this time, delivering two awesome videoclips together (following a very nice track).
I already talked about what it takes to create a good video of this kind when I wrote about Happy Pills by my dearest Norah Jones. And this one by Muse is even better than that one!
It’s totally awesome.
It features the use of 3D Animation to deliver the words and in such a cool way. The words take life in front of you, getting shaped by the pulse of the music. Just great.
It’s made most probably with a software like Maya or 3Ds Studio Max. In the stage they put a very nice Sans Serif font, converted it in 3D and applied a particle effect on it, to reach the visual result of thousands of points composing the letters. They added color and then started the hard work.
Once it’s been decided the visual style, the animation part took place. Pulses pervade the whole video and they follow the hammering of the rhythm: while the “particles” dance on the screen, they create the words which compose the lyrics of the song. The choreography of the particles is always unpredictable, which is a nice thing, and keeps the attention focused for the whole song. Every detail is very refined.
It’s a very strong result: perfectly coordinated with the style of the song. It gives a very strange feeling to watch it, just like being affected by the magic of the song.
The last thing you have to do is… To enjoy it!
See you, buddies!
and, how to create like that in simple way..
i saw muselive.com and the logo inspired form madness. any tutorial to make something like that?
thank you :)
hey there!
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a specific tutorial for this effect. It’s probably some kind of special plugin that synchronizes the animation with the beat of the track.
Even in AE you can reach something at least similar with the Particle Effect.
For a logotype, if I understood correctly your need, the closest thing I can suggest is to play around with Illustrator’s Blend Tool. It should get the work done!
Here’s a tutorial about that: http://abduzeedo.com/cool-typography-blend-tool-illustrator
Enjoy!
