The New York Duo MS MR is trying to conquer your heart letting you download Hurricane for free from their website, but in my case they own mine since I saw their music videos.

They describes their genre as Tumblr Glitch Pop, Soul Fuzz, Electroshock, and anybody that has a tumblr account can easily understand the meaning of these words.
The video itself really seems to be a motion collage of a tumblr blog, a cluster of vintage-hipster images, cult movies and graphic novels references and much more else you couldn’t even try to relocate in your mind but that you know it’s already in your memory system.
As they assured to us they “actually curated and collected all the footage for the video and it was edited together by Allison Woest.”

Make a montage isn’t only cut and sew strips of films, but is an art which underlines the importance of meaning: the sequence of frames build a story, a narration. That’s the way we’re told and that’s way we fight to discover a meaning in this video, trying to find a link between thousand of images that flip beneath our eyes. But who knows if there is one?

Hurricane is a fine example of Hyperkinetic Montage, as a good friend of ours has written in his degree thesis, this word indicates the technique used in sequences composed by single frames which last less than half second each, and actually in this video most of the images stay on screen for about two frames (and it’s an 24fps, do the math).
This is possible thanks to a precise frequency of cuts, even more intense than the more frequent used frenetic montage.
The H.M. is known for the strong velocity and the exasperation that the viewer feels, it’s like comparing a horse riding trot versus the fury gallop in a battle: even the sensation are maybe the same.

You’ll probably already guessed that the video suits well with the title in more than one way, that’s why now I’ll let you take a ride on this video recommending to hold tight and enjoy the hurricane.
