From a song that is allegedly talking about cocaine, we couldn’t expect something ordinary, and in fact we have pink elephants.

Times are weird these days and ordinary is something that has been completely cancelled from director’s vocabulary: “This was one of those videos where the idea came to me quickly. I wanted to do something bizarre and wacky, but with a logical link to it all. The idea was to go with opposites and connections: A guy with a dog’s head. Or a movie theater of skeletons watching a horror movie”; these are words from Parris, the director.

Speaking of the skeletons in the cinema, we get a suggestion of how the part was shot: “I knew there had to be cameo shots and didn’t want it to be cliche. We didn’t have a specific number in mind, we just randomly filled the theater with skeletons. Originally, Wayne wasn’t in the theater set up but he decided to jump in and do his thing while we were still rolling. We only shot one take so we cropped the shot to get a close up”.

Besides the pink elephant this is what happens: Weezy as the ringmaster of a neighborhood bomb the suburbs filled with wacky neighbors, discarded mannequins, a dancing panda and… a pink elephant, I just can’t get over it.
Meanwhile, other strange things happen: Lil Wayne and Big Sean standing on a ceiling, a girl making out with a mannequin, girls jump roping with hair, and Lil Wayne skateboarding; this is the third music video in a row that Lil Wayne is shown skateboarding.

Technically, it was basically all a matter of post production and editing with some green back shooting. I may suppose it is all After Effect.
