Kraak & Smaak – Squeeze Me
|
André Maat loves to use many frames in the same video (look at his portfolio), and in this video, born with the collaboration of Superelectric (who is an eclectic videomaker from Netherlands) the fingerflipping became the excuse to introduce some interesting situations in the filmed parts of the video. A little nostalgia of childhood arise from this video with the remembrance of the times when cartoons were on paper and animation was literally a sequence of drawings and photos.
This video won the 1st prize at the Music Video Festival of St. Petersburg, the Dutch Music Video Competition and got a nomination at D&AD 2009.
Enjoy the music, enjoy the colorful photography. |

Do you think that the lady’s hands were filmed with a blu/green screen?
well, maybe that’s probably the easier and cleanest way to film these kind of things.
Anyway, I love how Maat has converted those short videos into little books, and then he brought again motion in them and has mixed all that with the real life filming :)
