Buongiorno guys! Today we have a really original videoclip!

Directed by Ohji, about whom I was just able to find his Vimeo profile, this work is for the trio Keys N Krates, based in Toronto, which is making (I would say) a sort of hip hop. The three musicians released this track in their last EP Solow, for the labelВ Dim Mak Records.

Ohji worked here on a strange concept: he took book covers, such as romance novels, and he animated them: they all are pairs of lovers moving a little bit. Probably those images have beed cut and divided on multiple layers, and later animated as digital puppets. I think that’s really interesting and it gives the video this vintage atmosphere that is impossible to not appreciate, although it could appear a little repetitive, ’cause nothing is really happening and the animation sequences are always pretty similar.

It’s still a great work and we’re looking forward for Ohji to update his profile and make we know more about him and about his videos, hoping then now ones are coming soon!
