After The Wilhelm Scream, Limit to Your Love and A Case of You, we have a new video from James Blake! This music video belongs to the dub version of “Voyeur”.
This version of James Blake‘s theme, integrated into the album Overgrown, is part of the project of Dan Foat at 1-800-Dinosaur.

Overgrown is proof of the openness and ability of evolution of the artist, his conquering new heights while maintaining his usual quality. During this new route the singer worked with Bjork and Bon Iver. This album also has literary influences. The title was taken from a poem by Emily Dickson, “which refers to the sense of uncertainty regarding the growth of something new, a matter that is beyond us and the role of the protagonist facing a situation viewed with suspicion. Thus lines “All overgrown by cunning moss” inspired Blake to put his finger into the wound before the omnipotence of the music industry and of role of the artist as part of a cohesive whole. “

In this video we can identify three distinct moments. At first we see a vinyl record being played and there is some attention to the fact that the music must begin only when the pointer touches the disk, which makes perfect sense. In a second phase the viewer has the impression that has entered into the record, traversing a path of figures more or less geometric, which can be seen almost as the interior of the disc, where there is a whole rigid and complex side mixed with the organic sound. And in a last point we can say that we have reached the immaterial, the music itself, almost like watercolors that go dancing but instead of being guided by water, are guided by sound. Is also interesting to note that we started with a black and white, then move on to a set of images mostly black with shades of dark gray, and finally passed to bright and cheerful colors until get white.
The video was animated by Tobias Revell and Ferry Gouw.
