“I’m a director and an illustrator. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I do lots of work for bands and I make commercial animations through XYZ Studios.” Celeste Potter introduces herself.

The incredibly vibrant, colorful video has the protagonist going on a surreal adventure in which he frees caged animals, and crosses arm-sprouting mountains. In terms of its arrangements that simplicity is both elegant and deceptive. I say that because it has a haunting and achingly delicate beauty and it strikes me as a love song for those with broken hearts.

Labelled by Rolling Stone as a “psychedelic journey”, Husky’s video release of Tidal Wave has turned heads with its beautifully crafted animation and story-line. Front-man Husky Gawenda said the video follows a weird and wonderful character on its dream journey into its past, where memories, once frozen in time, are brought to life. The video, which fits the tune perfectly, has been described as a “vibrant, animated clip (that) tracks the odyssey of a peculiarly-drawn protagonist” as he frees caged animals and crosses arm-sprouting mountains. While the animation itself is slow-paced and a bit weird, you get the sense that the protagonist wants to change the world he lives in, a fine message for the Husky boys to send.
With some similar illustrations to the children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, the story-arch of this video intrigues you until the very end. There is no doubt that fans will love this new video, especially as it fits so well with the song.

The Australian quartet released Forever So, their debut album, in late August. They are currently touring the US and Canada.
