No, it’s not a mistake. This time Lynch is the artist, not the director. He fell down the bed one day and exclaimed “EUREKA! Let’s make a new album”, and later Crazy Clown Time was out in stores. Then he needed a video, but, you know, directing your song new video sounds quite redundant, so he decided to organize a contest. An Israeli director, Tamar Drachli, realized the video for the track I Know, while Arnold De Parscau purposed his work for Good Day Today, then Lynch knew he was the winner.

The video is taken from the short movie Tommy, which was released later, adding even more depth to the clip. De Parscau simply tell us on Vimeo:

“A little boy is having dinner with his family and imagines his father, mother and sister as he would like them to be, before coming back to a sad reality”.

Don’t trust him. This video is so impressive you will remember it for a long time. Since the first scene you breath the degraded atmosphere of a broken family: a careless father, a depressed wife, an adolescent and a child, Tommy, the true protagonist. You begin feelin’ suffocated when, slowly, Tommy plungs into an oniric dimension, and you fall with him into this psychological horror. Time and place change, assuming the appearance of a nightmare. But I won’t tell you more, ’cause you’ll be totally caught by the rhythm. De Parscau reminds us that you don’t need to use too many special effects to make a good work; with a great montage and a strong use of lights he will distrurb your quiet afternoon. The estranged voice of the song accompany you in this trip, while the melody adds tension. Can’t wait? See it!
