Ok guys, trust me if I say this is for trash lovers, but not everyday trash: the old school rappers’ one. Before to reveal all hidden sides of this incredible world, let me introduce you to Danny Brown, a self made rapper on the rise, directly from Detroit. MTV defined him “one of rap’s most unique figures in recent memory”, and I’m sure he won’t disappoint your expectations. The man with the wisp doesn’t fit the gangster stereotype, he’s a peculiar mix of rap and old-school influences. His song Grown Up is at #41 in the Rolling Stone Best songs of 2012 chart, described as “Spiced with old-school scratching, it’s the year’s sunniest hip-hop nostalgia trip”.

Directed by Bijoux Altamirano, WitIt mixes super trash gifs and the low-res version of No Limit cover art. If you’ve never stumbled across these trash masterpieces, you have to know that we’re talking about the CDs covers of the American hip-hop label No Limit Records. In a few words: big types, diamonds, hot babes and random stuff, all bad photoshopped. These elements describe Altamirano’s works as well, who chose the trash as her main expressive language. As well as music videos director, she worked as photographer and gif designer. I suggest you to have a look to her gifs, definitely the most psychedelic I’ve ever seen. And if you really enjoy the style, see Maluca‘s video, the female latin version of WitIt, always made in Altamirano.

Do you remember this video? Well, there’s something that makes me think that psychedelic-trash is the new tendency in hip-hop videos, don’t you think?
