Hey you indie lovers, here we have the new video You & I by Crystal Fighters, from their second album Cave Rave.
It seems that these long-hair youngsters made a collaboration with the director Elliott Sellers, who already shot Separator. We recently talked about one of his latest works, Untouched and Arrived, with its warm colours and atmospheres: You & I makes no exception. Through his long experience in music videos, Sellers developped a very recognizable style. Warm colours, soft images, scattered light, and birds are recurrent in his works.
You & I is the story of the friendship between a tree and Petrie, the bird. They live together in the sunny countryside, when suddenly someone decides to cut down the tree. Sellers uses the stop motion technique to make the bird’s movements, while William Lemon worked on the make up of the tree and the prothesis to make it sing. Stop motion alternates with some shootings where the band’s walking trough the fields.
What will happen to the singing tree? And what will Petrie do?
