The video that we present today is the track “Dark Bubbles”, from experimental American band Black Moth Super Rainbow.

This video allows two different types of interactions with the user – webcam or mouse – both with the goal of making something two-dimensional in something tangible. The user has the option to control the environment in which the clip is inserted, becoming part of the video. People can touch in the video.

This work was carried out by Radical Friend, a couple who met several years ago and after doing some experiences together they realized that they had the same view when it came to technology, art and interaction. Since then Julia Grigorian and Kirby McClure work into hypnotic projects that bring new ways of exploring the interactivity on the Internet.

In an interview to The Creators Project, Grigorian says: “It’s less about narrative and less like gaming. It’s more like an experience you have. It’s about telling stories—communicating something and trying to find a different way to do that. How do you put somebody in a space a little deeper, where they can feel something? Technology is rudimentary right now, but there will be a lot more things that will be possible later.”
Here‘s a video about this talented duo.
