We were, and still are, fans of Beastie Boys.
Not only the musical side, but also the artistic and the innovating ones. They built a music genre and built an imagery beyond the Beastie Boys name that includes underground music and underground art for which we, as supporters of everything innovating and artistic, have to be thankful. Most of all, MCA as director of most of Beastie Boys video, which were vanguard at their times, inspired most of the director of videos we are reviewing in this webzine, and, afterwards, are inspiring us.

So today we want to thank them and remember Adam “MCA” Yauch talking about their last work, directed by Spike Jonze, the one behind the famous movie Where the Wild Things Are and the executive producer of MTV’s Jackass, a show that has some point of contact with this video, where the entertainment is made by the extremely dangerous situations and the self-injuring stunts, here mixed with the sarcasm of the subtitled dialogues.

If you were born in the 90s, that’s a certain probability that you have played with toys similar to those in this last video of the Beastie Boys .
Spike Jonze bring us back right in our childhood, but with a vivid and splatter point of view, entertaining us with a video which is more a short movie rather than a music videoclip.

We are sure that Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win is a little masterpiece, the dolls were made in the image and likeness of the band and Santigold, and were meticulously moved in several wonderful builded sets, an hard work either for the director and for all the crew that worked in the production.

Eleven minutes of action and fun which wake up again the imagination of your youth.
